When I was in financial planning, I used to dread Mondays. On Sunday afternoon at 3 pm, I was cranky, frustrated, and dreading my new week. I often also had a really hard time sleeping on Sunday nights, thinking about all the things I had to do.
Today, as a certified barre instructor and barre studio owner, I still have Sunday nights where I can’t sleep, but now it’s often because I have so much to accomplish that week, or I’m designing my Monday morning choreography in my head while I should be sleeping.
Monday mornings are one of my big mornings in my Fit in 60 Barre studio. I have set up my schedule to start my week in the studio with the women who inspire me. At 8:20 am every Monday, I teach our Fit in 60 Barre Plus members’ only class. This class includes many of our long time members and absolute best clients. This advanced class sets the tone for my entire week! These women are fun, hard working, self motivated, and bring so much joy to my life.
This morning on my way into the studio, I was just in a mood. I sat through a stop light for three cycles, it took almost 20 minutes to get onto the freeway from the onramp, and I was just annoyed. But literally five minutes into my class, I was having fun, and their hard work and positive energy made my day better. It never fails that they are often just what I need!
So today, after teaching three classes and meeting with barre instructors – I’m actually happier and MORE energized than I was when my day started. I guess that tells me I’m in the right place and I’m doing the right thing.
To all the women who walked through my class door today – THANK YOU! My day has been better because of YOU!
